Achilles Mid White — Common Projects
The Achilles Mid is our signature high-top silhouette in premium white Italian calfskin. This minimalist sneaker features a low-profile ankle collar, tonal lace-up closure, and our iconic gold-foil serial number stamped at the heel. Handcrafted in Italy using traditional techniques, each pair is built on a Margom sole for superior flexibility and durability.

We source every hide from certified tanneries in the Veneto region, where artisans have refined vegetable-tanning methods for generations. The white calfskin on the Achilles Mid undergoes a slow chrome-free process that preserves the leather’s natural grain and breathability. This traditional approach creates a supple finish that develops a subtle patina over time without losing structural integrity.

Fit & sizing guidance
The Achilles Mid follows European sizing and runs true to length for most wearers. If you have a narrow foot or prefer a snug fit through the midfoot, we recommend going down half a size. The padded collar sits just above the ankle bone, offering support without restricting movement — a cut that works equally well with slim chinos or tapered denim.
Break-in period
Full-grain calfskin requires 8–12 wears to conform to your foot shape. During the first week, you may notice slight stiffness around the heel counter and toe box. Wearing the sneakers for short sessions — two to three hours at a time — accelerates this process without causing blisters. Once broken in, the leather molds to your arch and provides all-day comfort.

Care & maintenance
White leather demands consistent upkeep to preserve its clean appearance. After each wear, wipe the uppers with a soft cotton cloth to remove surface dust. For deeper cleaning, use a pH-neutral leather cleaner applied with a damp microfiber towel — avoid soaking the material, as excess moisture can weaken the vegetable-tanned fibers.
Every four to six weeks, condition the calfskin with a water-based cream formulated for light-colored leather. Apply a thin layer, let it absorb for ten minutes, then buff with a clean cloth. This routine prevents drying and cracking while maintaining the matte finish. Store the Achilles Mid in the original dust bag when not in use, and insert cedar shoe trees to preserve shape and absorb moisture between wears.

Common questions about the Achilles Mid
Both silhouettes share the same last and sizing, so if you own the Achilles Low, order the same European size for the Mid. The primary difference is the extended collar, which adds approximately 3 cm of height and provides light ankle support. The toe box width and overall length remain identical between the two models.
Expect 8 to 12 wears before the full-grain calfskin fully conforms to your foot. During this time, the leather around the heel counter and toe cap will gradually soften. We recommend short wearing sessions — two to three hours — for the first week to avoid blisters while the material adapts to your shape.
While the leather upper is naturally water-resistant, we don’t recommend prolonged exposure to rain or standing water. The vegetable-tanned lining can absorb moisture, which weakens the material and causes staining. If the sneakers do get wet, stuff them with newspaper and air-dry at room temperature — never use direct heat, as it can crack the leather.
For light scuffs, gently rub the affected area with a clean white eraser, then wipe with a damp microfiber cloth. Deeper marks require a pH-neutral leather cleaner applied in small circular motions. Always test any cleaning product on the inner tongue first to ensure it doesn’t alter the finish.
Yes, we offer replacement laces in white, black, and grey through our accessories section. Each set is 120 cm in length — the standard for the Achilles Mid’s seven-eyelet configuration. The original laces are waxed cotton for durability and a slightly textured finish.
The serial number is heat-stamped using genuine gold foil, a process that bonds the metallic layer to the leather surface. With proper care, it remains legible for the life of the sneaker. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the heel counter, and the foil will retain its sheen even after years of wear.
Every Achilles Mid ships with a protective dust bag, an extra set of white laces, and a product care card outlining cleaning and conditioning recommendations. The sneakers arrive in our signature minimalist box with tissue wrapping to prevent creasing during transit.
